The fifth edition of Mixer Sessions exhibition series, through which Mixer seeks to open up space for and support young artists at the beginning of their careers, is preparing to meet the audience between 15 June and 4 August.
This year is holding the fifth iteration of its exhibition series, which has been open to the participation of artists who are transitioning from arts education to professional art life. This year, we received over 300 applications through an open call for senior undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate students from universities that give education in the field of art. As a result of the evaluation made by the Mixer team, the works of 19 artists, produced in different disciplines, were entitled to be exhibited.
Mixer Sessions V offers the opportunity to see the works of artists who went to school in different cities, studied in different various artistic production forms such as video, photography, canvas, charcoal, ceramics, ready-made objects, and site-specific installations. This year's selection brings forward the concepts of social memory, individual identity, belonging, family, home-space, the nature-human relationship, and power. Artists whose works will be presented through Mixer Sessions V between June 15 and August 4 include: Cemil Toprak, Delal Eken, Derya Gözükızıl, Duygu Tanrıverdi, Eda İlbeyci, Ege Subaşı, Ekin Keser, Ferhat Salman, Gökhan Tanrıöver, Hale Arslan, Hazel Kılınç, Irmak Dönmez, Kübra Zor, Nagihan Aydınlık, Pelda Aytaş, Rıdvan Aşar, Serap Alakaz, Volkan Dinçer, Zeynep Tunçel Kahyaoğlu.
