Mixer is an art platform that brings a different interpretation to the idea of modern art space, whilst discovering emerging artists and making unique artworks accessible to all. Mixer especially aims to target independent artists, those passionate about art and any burgeoning collectors looking to start up a collection of their own.
Starting off with the notion of making art accessible, since 2014 Mixer is hosting the "PRINTED" exhibition series featuring original print works produced with different printing techniques. This year, the selection consists of a range extending from the 1900s to our day, including different printing techniques such as lithography, serigraphy and etching, photobooks created in the Photography Application and Research Center (FUAM) workshops, together with the artist books of Komet and Bengisu Bayrak.
Teşbihte Hata Olmaz
The exhibition “Teşbihte Hata Olmaz”, which was held between March 2 and April 14, 2018, aims to take a look at the new meanings gained by metaphors, at the spots where written language coincides with visuality. It explores the richness of images where the artists can reinforce their visual works with written material.
Eda Soylu - The Remnants From My Grandmother's House
"Remnants From my Grandmother's House" is a way for Eda Soylu to comprehend the empty void left behind the departed, through a house, objects and shadows. As the artist fuses the relics from her grandmother's house with those within her memory, she poetically searches for the way to commemorate the departed through her belongings.
For its 5th year, Mixer brings together the leading names of the cultural industry as guests of a project entitled "GUEST". The exhibition subtitled “Unexpected", curated by Özlem Ünsal took place between December 15th, 2017 and January 13th, 2018 at Mixer. The project aims to engage the names of different creative fields such as music, visual arts, fashion design and performing arts through an exhibition by bringing them out of their own disciplines.
