Artist: Furkan Öztekin

01.03.2019 - 07.04.2019

Mixer hosts “Four Seasons in May”, the first solo exhibition of Furkan Öztekin, between March 1st and April 6th, 2019.

In his works, Furkan Öztekin focuses on events that are important in LGBTI+ resistance history, such as Ülker Street, Eryaman and Meis Site. The artist, whose aim is to provide a new perspective through social excavation with his explorer spirit, is conducting new stories from real estate photos of rental houses and found objects in those houses.* Öztekin’s personal experience and sections that he got from marginalized and criminalized places are combining and evolving to a queer subjectivity*. The exhibition, which takes its name from the anthology of poetry titled as "Four Seasons in May", opens up a debate of the bitter sweet moments that we experience in our homes again by intersecting personal and public areas.
