Spotless

Mixer is hosting the exhibition ‘Spotless’ between January 18 - February 23 2019 which brings the works of three artists together. Artists Ayşe Yıldırım, Egemen Tuncer and Pınar Yılmaz are creating different forms of thinking on how the built environment that we constructed and affects our behavior.

In her series, Ayşe Yıldırım simplifies the details she picked from the architecture and shapes them with void. She chooses architecture as a theme and examines the relation between society and individuals.

Pınar Yılmaz who creates a separation between outside and inside with a metaphor of window, forms a presentation about the places in which tired minds and bodies rest after the busy city life. While examining the wall structure of the house, window and the ground simultaneously, she questions the connection between the human and the place.
Egemen Tuncer, who focuses on the relationship we have established with ordinary household items, revives the scenes from his studio photographs by modeling them in digital environment. In a sense, what can be termed stereotypically as dead-nature visuals, which are easily found and purchased from everywhere, are scenes that are memorized or highly familiar to us.
