For its 5th year, Mixer brings together the leading names of the cultural industry as guests of a project entitled "GUEST". The exhibition subtitled “Unexpected", curated by Özlem Ünsal will be opening on December 15th at Mixer. The project aims to engage the names of different creative fields such as music, visual arts, fashion design and performing arts through an exhibition by bringing them out of their own disciplines.
The “guest”s of the exhibition are expressing their own artistic perception through a new language. The works selected on Özlem Ünsal's proposal reflect a unique attitude that emphasizes the their own style. Exhibition’s “guest”s in this scope are fashion designer and V&A Jameel Price Judge Dice Kayek, musician Hakan Özoğuz, actor Mert Fırat, fashion and commercial photographer Tamer Yılmaz.
The exhibition featuring the artists Ahmet Duru, Ahmet Oran, Ahmet Sarı, Ali Şentürk, Alican Leblebici, Ansen, Berkay Buğdan, Burçak Bingöl, Ekrem Yalçındağ, EskReyn, Ilgın Seymen, Kemal Seyhan, Mustafa Horasan, Seçkin Pirim, Sibel Kocakaya is built on an ironic language. The project will present unexpected works, with an approach that we are not familiar with, by the artists who are identified with their works. The selection seeks to catch the viewer by surprise both with the signatures the works carry and the methods of exhibiting. The exhibition which was fictionalized in an out of the ordinary way, invites to read the works through a new expression and putting the viewer into the “guest” position.
“GUEST: Unexpected” exhibition can be seen until January 13th at Mixer’s place at Karaköy.
